Women's Steering CommitteeThe Women's Steering Committee is dedicated to advancing women's rights and highlighting women's issues. We meet at least once a week in one of the resource rooms located in the upper level of the new Students' Union Building. The Women's Committee is a woman-only committee where we can talk about our periods and knit (just kidding!). The strength of the Committee and its activities depend on you, the women on campus, in participating in or organizing one of the many events or activities that are possible.
Past Committees have organized events for International Women's Day (March 8), self-defense seminars, clothing swaps, and bicycle-repair workshops.
The Sexual and Gender Diversity Advisor facilitates meetings and events throughout the year, but the Committee operates on the strength of your participation to make things happen! If you are interested in socializing with other women and addressing any one of the diverse range of issues that women face both on and off campus, then the Women's Steering Committee is for you!
